JAE STEWART

For over 15 years years, Jae Stewart has studied and practiced professionally in the traditional arts industry and the animation industry. Jae’s formal training includes 2D Animation at Seneca College 2022, Diploma in Illustration at Seneca College 2020 and an Advance Diploma in Graphic Design at George Brown College 2016.

 

Jae Stewart enjoys creating art through the magic of storytelling. Her passion for art is inspired from the graffiti art community, anatomy studies, nature, Japanese manga and her Caribbean culture. Through her art she expresses the importance of representation of racial diversity and inclusivity which also includes giving space for BIPOC community and space for LGBTQ+ community.

 

Jae has collaborated with other artists and also independently lead in multiple art projects throughout the City of Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. She has collaborated with multiple artists under the Sherbourne Health Centre and Red Dress Production for a community engaged mosaic mural at the Sherbourne Community Health Centre in 2011. In 2012, she collaborated with two artists for DeSantos Martial Arts Studio inspired exterior mural design on Main Street and Gerrard. In 2014, she has also participated in 23 Police Division garage mural design of Toronto Police vehicles from different decades located Kipling and Finch.

 

Most recently, she has been focusing on studying the human anatomy and capturing the story of the human experience through her art. Jae’s sophisticated dynamic figure drawings are drawn from live models who are culturally diverse as they express their stories through dynamic poses. Her expressive lines reveals the beauty of all body types to support body positivity. Jae has showcased her figure drawings in entrepreneurial events for creatives, art galleries, and live drawings for community events throughout Toronto, Canada.
